The North Carolina Coastal Federation staff members ended 2017 on a sweet note after getting to spend time with volunteers and project partners at the annual volunteer appreciation parties.

Each regional office hosted their own party featuring food, desserts and a celebration of the year’s accomplishments.

The Wanchese office staff hosted theirs on Nov. 17 and catered food from Cafe Lachine. Approximately 25 people attended and gave a toast of thanks for all the work accomplished in the northeast region of the coast.

In the central coastal region, the Ocean office staff hosted their party on Dec. 8. The 75 attendees were not deterred by the dreary weather and enjoyed tacos catered from El Zarape, as well as fresh, local oysters. Staff provided a homemade dessert spread, and a slideshow of volunteer photos played in the background during the event.

The Wrightsville Beach office staff went to Waterman’s Brewing Company for their volunteer appreciation party on Dec. 13. Hors d’oeurves were available, and guests also got to give a cheers to the coast. Approximately 75 people attended and also enjoyed watching a photo a slideshow.

As we start getting into the thick of things this 2018, we again just want to say thank you to all the amazing people who supported our work in 2017! We couldn’t — and can’t — do it without you, and we hope to see everyone throughout this new year.
