Ramie Scheel

Ramie is a rising senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Studio Art. Growing up as a military child of the Navy, she developed a love for all things involving the ocean, spending most of her time outdoors surfing, snorkeling, and hunting for shark teeth. Upon graduating, Ramie hopes to work in environmental conservation for the National Park Service. In her free time, she also enjoys hiking through Wilmington’s salt marsh trails and painting with watercolors.

Hailey Brackett

Hailey holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida. Her academic journey involved extensive engagement with marine science literature, hands-on experience with field and laboratory techniques, and contributions to formal research on mangrove herbivory. Although her focus has been on research, her primary career aspiration is to work in marine mammal rehabilitation and habitat conservation. Currently, Hailey is gaining practical experience across various marine science disciplines in preparation for pursuing graduate degrees.

Brynne Highfill

Brynne is in her final year at UNCW, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. A long-time advocate for coastal protection, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to assist the NCCF in its mission. Outside of her studies, Sielinda enjoys cooking, reading, and engaging in outdoor activities. With plans to begin a career in habitat restoration post-graduation, she hopes to continue working to make the planet a happier, healthier place for current and future generations.

Jane Parrish Anotonas

Jane is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill pursuing degrees in environmental studies and philosophy. She is interested in a career in environmental law, where she can advocate for equitable access to clean water and energy. She enjoys traveling in her free time, especially to camp in America’s beautiful national and state parks.
