Marine Debris Cleanup at Morris Landing
January 21 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us at Morris Landing Clean Water Preserve for a marine debris cleanup to protect our coastal waters! No special skills are needed—just bring your enthusiasm, and we’ll provide the supplies. Volunteers should wear weather-appropriate clothes that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle, hat, and sunglasses. Gloves, boots, trash pickers, and trash bags will be provided.
This event is part of the Lost Fishing Gear Recovery Program, which works to remove hazardous debris like lost crab pots from North Carolina’s sounds. Since 2014, this effort has protected marine life and boats while keeping our waters clean.
Parking, restrooms, and refreshments will be available. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Come make a difference for our coast!
This cleanup is supported by the NC Commercial Fishing License Resource Fund and NOAA Marine Debris.
