Marsh Madness Seed Collection
April 23 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Celebrate Earth Week by helping to collect marsh plant seeds for future restoration projects!
We’re teaming up with Mellow Marsh Farms to gather Glasswort (Salicornia virginica) seeds in the salt marsh. The seeds will be planted later in trays at the nursery and grown into plugs that can be transplanted next year.
Volunteers will meet at 10:00 am at the Hoop Pole Creek Nature Preserve entrance. Please wear shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. Closed-toed shoes are required. Seed collection supplies, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, water and snacks will be provided.
This event is limited to 15 people and is weather dependent. Register below to reserve your spot!
