Walk the Loop for Clean Water: Stormwater Solutions Tour
March 18 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Celebrate Cape Fear Creek Week with an exploration of innovative stormwater solutions in Wrightsville Beach! This one-mile walking tour will highlight projects designed to reduce polluted runoff and protect our local waterways. Stormwater runoff is the No. 1 polluter of our coastal creeks and sounds, carrying bacteria and pollutants as it flows over hard surfaces.
The North Carolina Coastal Federation, in partnership with the Town of Wrightsville Beach and other organizations, has implemented stormwater reduction projects around the John Nesbitt Loop to help keep our waters clean. During this guided tour, you’ll see these projects in action and learn how you can apply similar techniques to your own yard or business.
This event is part of Cape Fear Creek Week (March 17-22), a regional celebration highlighting the importance of local watersheds through walking tours, educational presentations, nature hikes, volunteer opportunities, and more. Cape Fear Creek Week is part of the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Creek Week Network, an outreach initiative celebrating North Carolina’s creeks, streams, and rivers.
Come walk with us and learn how small changes can make a big impact on water quality!
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Landfall Foundation.
